we the combined people of Kogi west senatorial districts of Kogi State are hereby today to initiate the process of recall for Senator Dino Melaye. We are here to the forms to commence the process from INEC.
Let it be known that all of the Local Government Areas comprising Kogi West Senatorial district are united in our resolve to recall Senator Dino Melaye and remove the disgrace he has become to all of us.

We represent the following LGAs;

1. Yagba West
2. Yagba East
3. Mopamuro
4. Ijumu
5. Kabba-Bunu
6. Koton-karfe
7. Lokoja

We have compiled the key reasons below to show the world that Senator Dino Melaye's recall is not only long overdue, but the right to do in the best interests of Kogi West Senatorial zone, Kogi State, Nigeria, and in fact the institution and dignity of the distinguished Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

ATROCITIES BY SENATOR DINO MELAYE FOR WHICH IS CONSTITUENTS NOW SEEK HIS RECALL.

1. He has deemed it fit to have a constituency office in Kogi West Senatorial zone after two (2) years in Senate, meaning he has no presence in the zone and we have no way of reaching Our Senator.

2. He has no projects initiated in the constituency after 2 years in the Senate.

3. He is known for a continuous flow of irresponsible utterances which embarrass the constituency. For example: 'I will beat...  Impregnate you' referring to a fellow Senator and the wife of the National Leader of the APC, Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu.

5. Insulted Former President Olusegun Obasanjo

6. He didn't only insulted Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, but he traveled all the way from Abuja to the Leader's home in Lagos looking for a fight.

7. He insulted the Sultan of Sokoto, calling him an Islamist with a Muslim agenda in Kogi State, simply because His Eminence visited to celebrate the 1st Anniversary of the Government of His Excellency, Governor Yahaya Bello.

8. He routinely insults other leaders, elders and personalities.

9. He persists in portraying our Senatorial district as hostile to the administration of His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari and His Excellency, Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State respectively, for no just cause and not minding the impact on us.

10. He is notorious for conduct unbecoming of a Senator in the way and manner he relates to the Senate President as if he is bodyguard or houseboy instead of a full Senator representing a proud constituency like us..

11. He is enmeshed in a pending certificate scandal - we now believe he lied to us about his academic qualifications, part of the basis of which he sold his candidature.

12. He has brought home no dividends of democracy to our senatorial district.

13. He paints our dear Kogi State bad in the press at every opportunity he gets for his own selfish political interests,  many times without even a clear understanding of what he is talking about.

14. His source of wealth is questionable to us and certainly not the model we wish our youth to emulate.

15. He is indecent and deliberately corrupts public morals, for example,  he he routinely gives youths in the constituency who approach him for help N1,000 or less,  telling them to use it for condoms.

16. He is notorious corrupt and has been caught on video scheming steal the resources of Kogi State among himself and few cronies calling us elephants to be killed and shared.

17. He is an electoral fraud and has been caught on audio offering a judicial Officer money to decide an electoral matter in his favor.

18. He has no respect for Party Democracy, and routinely flouts lawful decisions and directives of even his own party leadership.

Dino Melaye has breached multiple codes of conduct by his deliberate acts and omissions and it is time the authorities acted to enforce the laws and the constitution.

Whether the appropriate authorities act or not, we the people of his constituency who are at the receiving end of his shameful deeds  have run out of patience and are resolved to recall and replace him with a decent and people oriented Senator.

We understand the requirements if Section 69 of the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 regarding the recall of such a member of the National Assembly and hereby assure everyone that KOGI West senatorial district is United in this and will achieve it.

We hereby give KOGI State Government notice that we are going through with this and if they will not help us, they must also not stop us or put obstacles in our way, in particular, everything the Law requires to be done by the administration in Lokoja in aid of this process must be done with despatch.

A socio-political group, Ajaokuta Youth Vanguard has expressed her satisfaction with the recent appointment of Comrade Akaaba Mustapha as the caretaker chairman of Ajaokuta Local government.
The group describes Comrade Akaaba as a well known philanthropist and people’s comrade who has fought for the betterment of Ajaokuta citizens over the years.
The group commended Governor Yahaya Bello for the appointment, describing him as a true political gladiator who knows what to do, when to do it and how to do it.
The Coordinator of the group, Comrade James Mohammed, while expressing his satisfaction with the appointment of Comrade Akaaba on behalf of the group said, “Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has done well by appointing Comrade Akaaba Mustapha as the Caretaker chairman and Comrade Jibril Abu as the Caretaker Secretary of Ajaokuta Local Government Area. The governor is a man who knows what to do, how to do it and when to do it. I think the Governor has done the right thing. Comrade Akaaba Muhammed and Jibril Abu are the perfect men for the job at the moment”.
He therefore urged the caretaker committee to have the fear of God and bring dividends of democracy to the people at the grassroots. He further urged them to bring a positive change to the people in order to achieve the New Direction Agenda of the state governor.

The battle of who owns the Lugard House till 2019 is over as the Supreme Court has put an end to the whole legal lacuna surrounding the emergence of Governor Yahaya Bello as the number one citizen of Kogi State. But the issue remains that “Will James Faleke swallow his pride and join the New Direction train of Governor Yahaya Bello?” my answer is same as yours.
I could recall that after the Tribunal judgment that dismissed the application of Hon. James Faleke to become the governor of Kogi state having being the running mate to late Prince Abubakar Audu, I, having seen that James Faleke’s case lacks merit, called on my namesake to shun people’s advice to go for appeal court and join the developmental train of the governor in an article titled “My advice to James Faleke”.
In the article, I categorically state the consequence of going to appeal court ranging from loss of political value to public humiliation. But my namesake paid deaf ear to my advice and forged ahead to appeal court and then to supreme court. Even some of his supporters called to warn and threaten me in that regard. Since then, I remained silent to watch how the whole political scenario will turn to favour him because I know that even a lay man will never declare James Faleke the winner of November 21st and December 5th Kogi state governorship election.
Now, he has lost both governorship and deputy governorship seats to Alhaji Yahaya Bello and Chief Simon Achuba respectively but the question is “What next for this political icon of our time?” Some persons are already advising him to join the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to seek redress while others are calling on him to put in place a political structure that would unseat Governor Yahaya Bello in 2019 governorship election.
Now My Take
If he (Faleke) joins the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), he will end up killing in entirety his political relevance in the state as there are many political juggernauts he needs to contend with to even get the party ticket for the 2019 governorship election. If he wants to stand on his own to build a political structure that would unseat Governor Yahaya Bello in 2019, he would be heading towards unrealizable aspiration because he will need to put more energy and finances to fight the sitting governor who will like to complete his two terms tenure.
What my Honourable Faleke should do now is to join the political train of Governor Yahaya Bello, let him swallow his pride and seek for reconciliation with the governor. He should work to support his 2019 aspiration and enter into an agreement with the governor to support him in 2023. But before then, he can come to Kogi West in 2019 to contest senatorial seat at least to gain ground against 2023 because presently he has no political structure in the three senatorial zones to contest for Kogi state governor come 2019.

As a true son of Ajaokuta local government, I have decided to put forward this advice to all our elected and appointed political sons and daughters in Ajaokuta local government and I believe that if this suggestion is being strictly adhere to, it will go a long way in savaging the agony and pains the youths in the local government might be passing through.
Leadership is giving your people a dance salute, even if they lack the country music. It is not just occupying the seat but it comes with a responsibility and that responsibility is strictly a function of the willingness of those who govern to do so in the interest of justices, fair-play, and the overriding good of the greatest number.
It is easy to say that your administration should not fall into the pot-holes of your predecessors. More important is what the regime should and must do to avoid those pot-holes.
The major pot-hole that must be avoided is the lifting song that leads the dancers to the edge of a cliff. When the song stops suddenly as it must, being a snare, the dancers do not stop because they cannot stop. However, I have been following the political updates for sometimes now and I must say, there is really a welcome development from our political leaders as each tries to put smiles on the faces of the electorates in their own capacity but I must categorically say that they have not done enough. The people of Ajaokuta local government expect more from you in terms of employment opportunities, sustainable empowerment, and infrastructures etc. For instance, you can use your office to lobby for employment opportunities for our youths in the ongoing Immigration and Air-force recruitment, likewise state and local government jobs.

If you do this, it will be a thing of joy to the youths of Ajaokuta local government and you will forever be remembered because it is wise to teach someone how to catch fish than giving him fish.

Also, there should be a sustainable empowerment. Scholarship should be given to students of the area to reduce their suffering. While I commend the past administration of Hon. Aloysius Adeiza Okino who gave N10,000 scholarship each to over 200 youths in the area, I urge you to emulate him and do the same. Remember that good name is better than riches.

Before I put down my pen, I will not forget to preach unity as this is the only platform to achieve sustainable development. It is no longer a mere say that, when two elephants fight, the grass suffers it. On this note, I called on all our leaders to come together irrespective of our political, ethical and religious differences to savage the people of the area from the current economic woes and hardship they are passing through. While some embark on infrastructural development, others should focus on human development which is a necessary tool in curbing insecurity as it is understood that a hungry man is an angry man.

I hope these suggestions would not be thrown to the dustbin as their implementation would go a long way in helping our suffering society.
Lest I forget, I want to quickly commend those of you that have done well to the society and encourage you to do more… kudos to you all
